On 19 June 2026, Member of the European Parliament Dr. Vladimir Prebilič visited the Jožef Stefan Institute. The Institute’s Director, Prof. Dr. Leon Cizelj, and his colleagues briefed Dr. Prebilič on the Institute’s activities, its research fields, and its role within the European Research Area. The visit continued with a tour of robotics research activities at the Department of Automation, Biocybernetics and Robotics, where guests were presented with robotic systems and a robotics demonstrator that will also be showcased at the European Parliament in Brussels on 2 September this year as part of the event “Towards a Major European Robotics Initiative.” The delegation then visited the Hydrogen Laboratory, where ongoing research and development activities in the field of hydrogen technologies were presented. At the conclusion of the visit, Dr. Prebilič emphasized: “Institutions such as JSI, and the people who work in them, are clear evidence of Slovenia’s outstanding development potential. For this reason, I will continue to strongly support efforts that place Slovenian knowledge, innovation, and research among the very best in Europe.”
