The title of Emeritus Scientist of the Jožef Stefan Institute is granted to retired scientists who have been very successful during their research and educational work at the Institute and who have remained actively involved in transfer of knowledge to young scientists.

The title of External Adviser to the Jožef Stefan Institute is granted to distinguished individuals and scientists in recognition of their cooperation with the Institute in planning the direction of its activities.
